Montessori learning pods serve families for variety of reasons

November 23, 2020 by Rachel Kincaid 1 Comment

From undocumented workers’ children whose parents would lose their jobs if they were to stay home to support their children’s virtual learning to Montessori students who cannot work with the classroom materials due to school closures, small learning pods are forming all over the country.

Maria Eva Chaffin, founder of Seeds of Life Montessori Academy in Sarasota, Florida, aims to provide bilingual and inclusive Montessori education to families wishing to reduce the exposure they have to others.

Some have argued that learning pods are designed only for the rich, but non-profits serving students in pods are growing in number as well.

Despite the immediate need some see in the formation of learning pods, the work from home model is likely to be a lasting residual of the pandemic as more employers note productivity despite the vastly different work environment employees have faced this year.

I love this idea! Seeds of education sown will never be in vain. It will bring forth life long results.
