By the Numbers: The Biggest Montessori Groups on LinkedIn, Facebook

Groups include professional networking, teacher support, alumni, buy/sell/trade and more.

Montessori Professionals, a LinkedIn group with approximately 2,000 members posts employment openings, professional development opportunities, school news and more.

Montessori Alumni, a LinkedIn group with approximately 6,400 members, “gathers Montessori Alumni and teachers all over the world. Maria Montessori gave to each and every child the unique gift of individual autonomy, freedom and responsibility. Here on LinkedIn we have a chance to witness how we brought this gift in our life and work.”

Montessori in the Next Decade, a LinkedIn group with approximately 8,300 members, includes “ideas from everyone from Montessori alumni, teachers, volunteers, present families, community enthusiasts [that] help us build on the amazing values and ideas of Maria Montessori.”

Montessori Materials for Sale with 31,200 Facebook members is a site to buy, sell or trade used, quality Montessori materials.

Bringing up Montessori Infants and Toddlers, with 33,400 Facebook members, includes discussion on philosophy, Positive Parenting, RIE, shelf setup and more.

Montessori Teachers International with approximately 37,300 Facebook members, this group posts Montessori resources, anecdotes, original projects, creative ideas and more.

Montessori Moms with 39,000 Facebook members, is for those passionate about the Montessori method and is an offshoot of a Montessori homeschool group.

Montessori Homeschooling with 41,700 members offers support for home educating families who incorporate the Montessori method.
