I’d like to challenge the framing of this question – technology is not one thing. Digital technology has permeated every classroom in one way or another this past year. The question is what are the effective ways that technology can be used to support the Montessori approach. A computer or tablet opens up countless possibilities for students to connect with the world, for teachers to document learning, and to support the school-family partnership. That doesn’t mean we should be using these tools all the time. It is the thoughtful decisions that teachers when they select a digital tool, and decide how to use it that can have a real impact in the classroom and support learning.
