Just before the pandemic our private Montessori school was forced to close down due to major problems with the building we were renting. After selling most things, I kept some furniture and materials to set up a homeschool in my basement for my grandchildren and few friends. We are a Co-op that meets 3 mornings a week with children 2.5 years through 2nd grade.
We rapidly grew from 5 children to 17 and had a wonderful year.

My student must have had visions of all things sweet when he decided to put it all down in words with the Moveable Alphabet.

One of the things we are proudest of this past year at Crystal Lake Montessori School is the way our teachers have reimagined their classrooms and built both indoor and outdoor prepared environments the children can freely move between. Everyone benefits from the increased sunshine and fresh air!
Montessori child is a global citizen and is actively engaged and interacting with his prepared environment. The students resumed their normal school routine after 630 days of school closure in India. The student here is of The Ardee School, New Delhi and is a nature enthusiast. He learnt about parts of a tree with his Montessori Directress and is after outdoor exploration he is moving from the concrete learning to abstract learning. The Montessori Directress has tried to incorporate learning at all levels: Using the puzzle of parts of a tree and sandpaper letters to support the child in completing his abstract work independently.

Our Montessori early childhood classroom has been thriving and full of growth even in a pandemic. Here children are masked as they work together with the bead bars. As their teacher, I was so inspired by the child’s strength that I wrote a book celebrating children attending school in mask. This book features Montessori students in the classroom and can be a tool for students, caregivers, and educators. It is linked in our email signature if this is of further interest to you or your audience. —Montessori School of Seattle
Here is a photo of one of our primary children during the morning work cycle. She is using a material we created due to the pandemic and another child is snacking and looking on – although she is interested, she is maintaining her “social distance”.

Hi there, I have submitted a Photo of the Month from admin@montessorischoolofseattle.com.

Our Montessori early childhood classroom has been thriving and full of growth even in a pandemic. In the photo children are masked as they work together with the bead bars.

As their teacher, I was so inspired by the child’s strength that I wrote a book celebrating children attending school in mask. Thank you for your time and consider consideration,
