Upper Elementary Lead and Lower Elementary Lead Needed

Innovation Montessori, founded by parents in 2011, is an OCPS charter school, set on 18 beautiful acres in Ocoee, Central Florida. Our school serves over 920 children in preschool through high school. We are passionate about providing our students a free and authentic Montessori education.

We are accepting applications for an Upper Elementary teacher (multi-age classroom, including grades four, five and six) and a Lower Elementary teacher (multi-age classrooms, including grades one, two and three) to join our team by the end of September 2021.

State of Florida teacher certification or statement of eligibility for K-6 (or PK3-3 for the Lower El job) is required. Montessori experience/certification is preferred but not required. Teachers who join us without Montessori certification must commit to beginning Elementary training within twelve months of hire.  A summer cohort prior to the start of the school year is preferable. The school will provide a scholarship for half the tuition and an interest-free loan for the remainder, if desired.

Candidates should have knowledge of Montessori philosophy, and be able to support a joyful, child-centered learning environment. Our large and bright classroom suites are shared by two classes of children, staffed by two lead teachers and one teacher’s assistant. Upper Elementary teachers are enlightened generalists, teaching all subjects to their own roster of students. Candidates must be able to work effectively in a co-operative environment. Our school uses Restorative Justice and places a great emphasis on whole child education.

Qualifications and Skills:

Current State of Florida K-6/PK3-3 teaching certification or eligibility is required.  Montessori certification is preferred but not required immediately. Commencement of Montessori training within 12 months of hire is required for teachers not possessing certification at time of hire and starting a summer cohort in advance of the beginning of the school year is preferable.

Pay is commensurate with OCPS. Benefits are available. We do not participate in FRS.
