Job Description: UPPER ELEMENTARY TEACHER

Start Date: August 21, 2023

Brief Description: The Lead Elementary Guide is a full-time position. They will work in conjunction with their teaching partners, the Primary team, the Director of Curriculum the Elementary Team, classroom specialists and the Head of School to lead Elementary students in accordance with the principles of Montessori educational philosophy and practices, and the mission, the curriculum, and the policies of C’E Montessori.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Prepare lessons using MRX (Montessori Records Express) following the Elementary Montessori Scope and Sequence.
Develop, review, and update curriculum and curriculum maps.
Be in attendance at school in accordance with the times set forth in the letter of agreement
Be an Advisor to a designated group of students
Maintain a “prepared” environment in the classroom and other areas used for instruction
Maintain student records with regard to attendance, achievement, and report-writing
Prepare reports for parents in accordance with the established policies of C’E Montessori School
Develop and implement whole class, small group and one-to-one age appropriate lessons that incorporate a range of learning approaches to both support and challenge diverse learners to reach their fullest potential
Prepare for and participate in regular parent-teacher conferences as set forth on the school calendar
Participate in regularly scheduled day and overnight trips with students
Attend and participate in various evening meetings, such as the school picnic, the school musical, and the end of year Arts Festival.
Attend and participate in regularly scheduled program level, faculty, and faculty and staff meetings
Establish and maintain a positive and professional relationship with students, parents, and other teachers and school personnel
Perform various reasonable tasks from time to time as requested by the Elementary Team Leader, and the Head of School

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree required
Master’s Degree preferred
Montessori certification/experience/training preferred
Three years teaching experience minimum
Salary is $60,000-75,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
