Mis Manos Montessori School is located at the base of the Catalina Mountains in Oro Valley, Arizona just north of Tucson, Arizona.  Oro Valley is a growing town with a highly rated education system and family friendly communities.  We have been serving Tucson, Oro Valley, and its surrounding areas since 2011. We offer year-round Preschool and Kindergarten for children ages 1 1/2 to 6 years old. Mis Manos has a dedicated staff and very supportive parents.  We have multiple family events throughout the year, which are well attended by the school families.
Primary Lead Guide
Are you passionate about nurturing and inspiring lifelong learners?  We are looking for a dedicated Montessori Lead Guide with a positive outlook and desire to make a difference.  The ideal candidate has a Montessori certification in 3-6 years of age from a MACTE accredited institution. Must have a collaborative attitude and great classroom management skills.  Spanish speaking is a plus. The successful candidate will work closely with an assistant guide to lead a 3-6 primary classroom.
We offer 401k and profit sharing opportunities.  Salary is commensurate with experience.  Staff hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

School Director
Summary of position: The school director is accountable for the operations of the program and activities of Mis Manos Montessori School, in keeping with the mission and vision of the school and the direction as set by the owners and head of school. The director must represent the spirit, and have competent knowledge of, a traditional Montessori education, and embody the vision of the school in its relations with teachers, staff, students, families, and the community.
Reports to the head of school
Hours: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Duties:
  • Assume the day-to-day responsibilities for the operation of the school to include overseeing the opening and closing of the school day, licensing compliance in all aspects of operations (being familiar with and monitoring licensing rules)
  • Manage communications with parents, staff, and the head of school
  • With the head of school, review, evaluate, and modify policies as needed and communicate with the appropriate parties. This can include policies around health alerts, school guidelines, COVID-19 policies, etc.
  • Supervise staff, both teaching, and non-teaching
  • Monitor staff schedules, track time off and arrange for substitutes as needed
  • Ensure that staff have adequate, quality opportunities for continuing Montessori education and meet the requirements of licensing; support staff and teachers in a positive way while holding high standards for a quality program
  • Monitor classroom activities, observe, and ensure Montessori principles and practices are being observed and implemented; coach teachers as needed
  • Participate in interviewing and selecting staff members to ensure qualified individuals are hired for classrooms
  • Track and monitor tuition payments, late fees and communicate with parents on related matters
  • Give tours to prospective parents, communicate by telephone and in writing to ensure a smooth enrollment process
  • Maintain a current waitlist and meet enrollment goals as determined by the head of school
  • Plan parent orientation and staff orientation for the beginning of the school year
  • Plan and/or support teachers in planning special events
  • Plan and schedule teacher/parent conferences
  • Monitor facilities, needed repairs or concerns, and report any problems to the head of school/owners
  • Represent the school professionally as a Montessorian and role model to all constituents formally and informally, including to parents, community members, students, staff, and prospective families
Qualifications:
  • Professional, positive attitude and appearance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with strong administrative/problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize
  • Ability to handle confidential matters and information with discretion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is a plus
  • Administrative experience managing a Montessori school or childcare center, or extensive teaching experience and administrative experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Demonstrated experience with strategic planning
  • Background knowledge of the fiscal and operating needs of a school
  • Montessori Certified Training from a MACTE accredited institution or extensive experience with Montessori philosophy and curriculum
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with the standards for ethical and professional performance
  • Spanish speaking is a plus
