Mariposa Montessori School is an AMS accredited private school with a warm, natural, and nurturing environment, nestled into a forest setting in sunny Austin, TX. We currently serve children ages 8 weeks to 12 years (6th Grade). If you are passionate about authentic Montessori education, we have a home for you at our school! For the 2020-2021 school year, we are seeking Lead Guides for our Children’s House (3 years to 6 years), Young Children’s Community (18 months-3 years), and Nido Environment (8 weeks to 18 months) to join our team of supportive guides and grow with our school, for years to come. We need team members who take initiative, have a peaceful and joyful personality, are reliable and prepared, collaborate well, and embrace the Montessori Method, wholeheartedly.

Some responsibilities include:

Preparing and maintaining the environment
Observing and recording milestones for each child using Transparent Classroom
Keeping daily records and writing two short weekly journal entries (Birth to Three)
Writing a bi-weekly classroom newsletter
Giving child and parent orientations
Help lead workshops and meetings on implementing the Montessori philosophy
Cleaning and maintaining classroom organization and order
Supervision and direction of your Support Guides
Maintaining a spirit of renewal that keeps you motivated and continually learning
Your attendance and contributions are expected at all school events

Details to consider:

This position is full-time, five days per week per calendar year with occasional staff meetings and school events after hours
As a member of our salaried staff, you will receive paid time off days as well as all school holidays
Each teacher receives a monthly classroom budget for purchasing and the creation of hand-made materials
Salary and benefits package are competitive and reflective of education and experience
Candidates must hold a MACTE accredited Certification, preferably AMS, IMC or AMI
