Lead Primary Guide in Ellsworth, Maine, US

Seabreeze Independent School is seeking a primary guide to start in August 2023. Seabreeze Independent School is a growing school in Ellsworth, Maine. Founded in July of 2020, Seabreeze currently has a primary classroom and a combined lower and upper elementary classroom. Seabreeze is seeking individuals who have experience working with young children, and who hold a primary (3-6) Montessori diploma or credential to start in August 2023. They will be adding a second primary classroom in 2024.

Positions Overview

Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 3:00pm

Description:

The Lead teacher will be working in our private early childhood Montessori classroom. They are responsible for all aspects of the prepared environment. This position requires flexibility, stamina to keep up with young students, and positivity. All applicants must have a deep respect for the capabilities and independence of young children and be willing to work as a team with our amazing staff. The ideal candidate must have an early childhood Montessori credential.

Preferred qualifications and experience:

Experience working in an early childhood Montessori classroom working with groups of children ages 3 to 6 years
Able to lift 40 pounds, haul or drag furniture, up to 25 pounds, sit, stand, and squat
Frequently get up and down from the floor to work with small children
Ability to take children on walks and supervise outdoor playtime
