Head of School in Frederick, Maryland, US

Meadows Montessori is an established authentic Montessori school in Frederick, MD for children ages 3 months to 6 years old. We seek a full-time, year-round Head of School who is passionate about working with and through others to nurture a respectful, reciprocal school climate and culture with a growth mindset. Ideal candidate must have a minimum of two years of experience as an Administrator with MSDE approved Director credential, Bachelor’s Degree and a recognized Montessori teaching credential. Ability to exercise good judgment in decision-making, to demonstrate understanding of age-appropriate Montessori pedagogy, and to successfully mentor others is crucial. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Maintain a safe, secure, and orderly environment
· Operate in compliance with COMAR regulations to include student and employee files
· Be organized, approachable, and flexible with a strong ability to multi-task
· Work with MSDE, OCC, families, and the team in a cohesive manner with forward planning
· Demonstrate ethical leadership skills, inspired vision, shared values, effective communication, and attentiveness to the needs of the school community
· Establish a system of scheduling and substitutes for faculty and staff
· Participate in school tours & events, parent educational opportunities, and parent/teacher conferences
· Evaluate staff, determine professional development needs, and problem solve together
· Facilitate communication between team members and parents acting as a liaison
· Participate in the interviewing and hiring/firing process
· Maintain professional development standards and required trainings
· Uphold state and school policies, procedures and protocols appropriate to the situation

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $65,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year depending on experience
