Elementary Lead Guide in Ferndale, California, US
Job description:
We are a brand new private Montessori school in historic Ferndale, CA seeking an enthusiastic, experienced teacher for our elementary program (6-9). We’re excited to start collaborating with the right candidate asap to craft a high-quality Montessori environment that sparks self-discovery and a love of learning in our students! This is a great opportunity to really build a program from the ground up.
Above all else, we are looking for a warm, caring lead guide who truly understands and is passionate about child development and education. We are specifically looking for someone who can make a commitment for at least one year.
Requirements: Montessori Certification from an AMI, AMS or MACTE accredited Montessori Teacher Education Program, or a Certified Teacher with willingness to obtain above Montessori certification with our sponsorship.
Job responsibilities will include:
-Collaborating with the heads of school to develop a nurturing, stimulating environment that promotes exploration, discover and self-directed learning
-Creating an integrated curriculum across multiple subject areas that meets the needs of each student
-Working closely with students, encouraging them to pursue their interests and passions while helping them develop critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and social skills
-Maintaining portfolios of student work and progress
-Communicating with parents and caregivers to ensure each child receives a well-rounded education that supports their individual learning needs and interests.
