IMC’s annual conference

November 29, 2022 by Rachel Kincaid Leave a Comment

“

This year’s IMC international conference took place in beautiful St. Petersburg, Florida.  CGMS faculty took part in the event, many attending the workshops and roundtables, and others as presenters of sessions.

Those attending the conference also had the special opportunity to watch a live presentation of Words that made the difference: BROWN vs the BOARD OF EDUCATION, Playwright and Director Cindy Acker.  This important production portrays the landmark case that stripped away constitutional sanctions for segregation by race, and made equal opportunity in education the law of the land.

The CGMS leadership team had the first in-person get together in a few years!  The administrative team, directors and support staff participated in a two day get together that included time to renew and refresh, time to talk face-to-face to those that usually communicate virtually, and a full day team meeting led by the very inspiring Kitty Bravo, Director of Education.” -Ellyn Lastinger, CGMS

“If The Montessori Foundation IMC Conference was a person, I would describe her as having the gift of slowing down time and listening in a way that made it easier to hear,  who we are, and who we could become, not only as a Montessori practitioner but as a Montessori community.  She whispered truths we needed to hear, affirmed practices we engage in, and introduced us to new ways of knowing, all while holding everyone in her big strong heart.”   -Cassi Mackey, M.Ed, Montessori Coach & Consultant; IMC workshop presenter.

“World renowned Montessorians came together to share their collective knowledge and a chance for CGMS staff to be introduced to many affiliates face to face after years of professional relationships online.” -Heather Fuller, CGMS
