2021 sees virtual, live Montessori conferences return

May 17, 2021 by Rachel Kincaid Leave a Comment

Throughout 2020, traditional Montessori conferences around the country and world pivoted into virtual settings and others postponed their events until travel and gatherings were possible.

In early 2020, online conferences were held by South Carolina Montessori Association, Southeast Montessori Collective; The Montessori Foundation/IMC and Montessori Schools of Massachusetts‘ traditional live conference were held online as well. The Montessori community was eager for these virtual professional development opportunities after the spring cancelations of  the American Montessori Society’s ‘Montessori Event 2020,’  Cincinnati Montessori Society, Montessori for Social Justice conferences and many other regional events.

In early 2021, the Utah Montessori Council held a virtual conference as well as American Montessori Society, among other groups. Still other organizations are looking toward late 2021 to reopen with live events such as Montessori Association of North Carolina, Montessori Foundation and New Jersey Montessori Association Council.

Montessori Homeschool Summit, a traditionally virtual conference, will continue in summer, 2021 as normal. South Carolina Montessori Alliance will offer a virtual event in October, 2021.

Several organizations are looking further forward to 2022 for their next live events such as University of Wisconsin, Montessori Educational Programs International, Cincinnati Montessori Society and American Montessori Society.
