App developer and Educator team create 3-part card tool

April 22, 2020 by Rachel Kincaid Leave a Comment

Yamil Rivera, electrical engineer and self-taught software developer, noticed he and his wife often needing tools to create materials as they home schooled their children using Montessori principles.

“A lot of times, she had an idea or a problem, and I would find ways to develop a software solution,” recalls Yamil. Most recently, she came to Yamil with a set of images that she wanted to use to create 3-part cards, but wanted a much quicker way to do so.

“I quickly saw an opportunity to automate the process,” he said. Now the 3-part card app is being tested by teachers and parents all over the country. “The tool allows you to select a folder on your computer that contains your images, and then it creates the cards for you.”

Those interested in trying the tool may reach out to Yamil directly at boricuapps@gmail.com, in exchange for valuable feedback on how the tool works for them. For more information on Yamil’s other apps, visit Boricuapps, LLC.
