Infant / Toddler Guide in Arlington, TX, US

Country Day School of Arlington (CDSA) is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified individual with a love for children to join our community as an Infant/ Toddler Lead Guide. The individual will co-lead a Montessori Infant (2-18 months) or Toddler (14-36 months) environment. This is a full-time (7:45am-4:30pm), year-round (12 month) position. CDSA follows a 10-month academic year with a 2-month summer program. CDSA is a close-knit community that has been partnering with families to provide a supportive and educational foundation for young children for almost 70 years. Responsibilities include:
-Work with co-lead to use observations of students, knowledge of child development, and knowledge of the Montessori method to prepare and maintain an organized, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children that aligns with the Montessori philosophy.
-Work with co-lead to manage the behavior of students, mediating conflicts, and supervising for safety
-Prioritizing the practice of observing and reflecting on one’s observations to inform one’s practice
-Prioritizing self-reflection to improve one’s practice
-Building strong partnerships with parents and co-lead
-Working with co-lead to prepare daily notes that will be sent to parents
-Working with col-lead to prepare for parent conferences
-Attending staff meetings twice a month
-With a co-lead, managing Extended Care (after school care) for children 0-3 years old

Requirements:
-Must meet and be aware of City of Arlington and State of Texas Childcare standards
-Be enrolled in or have an Infant/Toddler Montessori teaching credential from a M.A.C.T.E. accredited training program.
-Experience teaching in an Infant/ Toddler Montessori environment
-Strong communication and collaboration skills
