Da’ehu is a new Montessori school in Monsey with a mission to teach the whole child to know G-d and give children the academic, social and emotional foundations necessary to become caring innovators in a world which is increasingly lacking care and innovation.  Da’ehu seeks  a loving, intelligent and creative head teacher for the 2023-2024 school year.  The objective is to eventually grow all the way to 12th grade with a collaborative team of five head teachers who will be responsible for the tuning and adjustment of a student-centered and hands-on integrated curriculum designed to release the sheer fun of authentic learning.  This is an opportunity to take bottom-up ownership of the classroom in a progressive work environment designed to unleash the sheer fun of teaching.

Responsibilities:

• Close observation of students to understand their individual educational needs as demonstrated by students’ choices in their learning environment.

• Day-to-day adjustment of the learning environment as dictated by the above observations.

• How-to demonstrations of the correct procedures for engaging in developmentally appropriate learning activities.

• Supervising and facilitating as necessary students’ development of a portfolio of accomplishments.

• Tracking and logging students’ mastery of requisite skills as evidenced by their successful completion of authentic learning activities.

Qualifications:

• Have experience caring for 3-5 year-old children.

• Possess an understanding of and appreciation for Child-Centered Education.

• Curiosity about the surrounding world.

• Growth mindset and dedication to the objective.

Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
