Job description:
Vancouver Montessori School is looking to add a Full-Time Primary Assistant to join our team for the 2022-2023 school year. Experience in the Montessori environment is preferred, not required, as this would be a great opportunity for one to get acquainted with the Montessori environment.

Duties:
Supports the Montessori Guide with a group of 20 children ages 3 to 6 years. Duties include but are not limited to supporting children’s independent activity, taking observation notes, supervising in the classroom and playground, cleaning and maintaining the environment, and work in aftercare.

Hours & Benefits:
The classroom is open 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; assistants work an 8-hour shift with two paid 10-minute breaks and an unpaid half-hour lunch. This is a full-time, year-round position with full medical and dental, and the benefit of working with a fun group of people!

Requirements:
Passion for working with 3–6-year-old children.
Compassionate communication style, positive attitude, and calm presence.
Interest in and desire to learn more about the Montessori philosophy.
Very organized with a keen eye for detail.
Eagerness to grow and contribute.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
(Preferred) At least one year of classroom or group childcare experience with preschool-age children and/or a degree in Early Childhood Education of child development.

Qualifications Needed (obtainable upon hire):
Enrollment in the WA State DCYF Merit with background check clear.
Current CPR/First Aid, 30-hour childcare basics course and Food Handlers Card.

Pay: $15.50 and up to start
