Lower Elementary Montessori Co-Teacher / Montessori-Trained Assistant Teacher (Ages 6–9) in North Chelmsford, MA, US

We are seeking a certified Lower Elementary Montessori Guide or a Montessori-trained Assistant Teacher to join our team as a Co-Lead Teacher, or a Montessori-trained Assistant Teacher in our program serving 1st–3rd year students (ages 6–9), in response to the continued growth in our Elementary Program. This role is part of a collaborative co-teaching model, working closely with a partner Lower Elementary guide.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with students to foster independence, intellectual curiosity, and social-emotional growth, and collaborates effectively with a co-teacher to support the needs of the whole child. Co-teaching offers the opportunity to share ideas and responsibilities while providing increased social-emotional support and more individualized and small-group lessons, creating a rich and responsive academic environment.

This is a school-year position 8/31/26 through 6/11/27 (Approximately 180 work days). Benefits include paid sick and personal time. Additional days off include 2 weeks during December break, February & April vacation weeks, and major holidays. Pay will commensurate with experience & certification.

Qualifications:
– Collaborate with a co-teacher to design, prepare, and maintain an orderly, beautiful Montessori environment that meets the developmental needs of children ages 6–9
– Plan and implement individual and small-group lessons that integrate academics with Practical Life, Grace and Courtesy, and Cosmic Education
– Work collaboratively with the co-teacher to set goals, support student growth, and guide the work of individuals and groups
– Present lessons in accordance with Montessori curriculum, pedagogy, and principles
– Educate the whole child by applying Montessori philosophy in a joyful, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
– Actively observe students to identify interests and developmental readiness, guiding them toward appropriate materials that foster mastery and independence
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student work, progress, and behavioral observations using school-designated software platforms
– Participate in chaperoning off site field trips, physical education programs, and Outdoor Classroom experiences during the Spring semester
– Represent the school’s mission and values within the school community and to prospective families
