Mariposa Montessori School, Austin, Texas, seeks Lead Children’s House Guides.

Mariposa Montessori is proud to be Austin’s only AMS accredited private school; we are a Montessori school with a warm, natural and nurturing environment. We currently serve children ages 8 weeks to 12 years (6th Grade). If you are passionate about authentic Montessori education, we have a home for you at our school. For the 2019-2020 school year, we are seeking 2 Lead Guides for our Children’s House (3 years to 6 years) to join our team of supportive teachers and grow with our school, for years to come. We need someone who takes initiative, has a peaceful and joyful personality, truly has a strong love for children, and embraces the Montessori Method, wholeheartedly.

Some responsibilities include:
Preparing and maintaining the environment
Observing and recording milestones for each child using tracking tools
Keeping daily records and maintaining student portfolios
Bi-Weekly classroom newsletter
Child and parent orientations
Help lead workshops and meetings on implementing the Montessori philosophy
Cleaning and maintaining classroom organization and order
Supervision and direction of your assigned assistant teachers
Your attendance and contributions would be expected at all school events

This position is full-time, five days per week per calendar year with occasional staff meetings and school events after hours.
As a member of our salaried staff, you will receive paid time off days as well as all school holidays, paid as well as a your AMS membership and continuing education.

Each teacher receives a monthly classroom budget for purchasing and the creation of hand-made materials. Salary is competitive and reflective of education and experience.
