Montessori Elementary Teacher
Montessori Discovery School is seeking a 6-12 Montessori credentialed teacher to join our 6-12 Elementary classroom.
Montessori Discovery School is looking for a Montessori trained 6-12 teacher to lead our 6-12 elementary class. We are looking for a person who enjoys working in a small school with a welcoming staff and engaged parents and students. Classic Montessori education, effective communication, and personal growth are important parts of our commitment to children and adults at MDS. A sense of humor is always a plus.
Located in beautiful southeastern Connecticut, MDS is a breath of fresh air from the busy city life. Our wetlands and fields provide outdoor explorations for our students as well as a home for our llamas and chickens. Children and staff learn to care for our environment and our animals while gaining independence through our Montessori curriculum. MDS is accredited by the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools, is a member of AMS, and Montessori Schools of Connecticut.

Experience working with children
Montessori credential in Elementary (I/II)
Bachelors degree required
Interest in learning animal care
Passion for working with children and families
Ability to communicate and collaborate with a team, staff, and administration
Strong classroom management
Proficient in the use of technology
Strong writing and grammar skills
Sick, personal, and vacation days
School year schedule/summer programs when available
