Assistant Teachers in Charlottesville, Virginia, US

We are looking for compassionate, respectful, and loving people to join our staff at both our Cutler ln location and our Gordon Ave location, morning and afternoon positions available. Come join our long-running and joyous community!

You’ll work directly with trained Montessori teachers and other seasoned staff to create a loving, respectful and joyous environment for children between the ages of 3 and 6 years old or 21 months-2.5 years. There is the possibility of more hours substituting for other staff.

Responsibilities include: supporting Montessori Philosophy and children’s social-emotional development, maintaining clean and orderly classroom spaces with the help of the children, ensuring safe supervision of children, and amplifying the respect and joy in our community.

Job Requirements include: the ability to be reliable, consistent and flexible, love and understanding of children, a high school diploma (early childhood certification or equivalent preferred) and experience working with young children, and the ability to spend time on the floor/get down to children’s level. Previous experience in Montessori settings preferred.

Salaries start at $15/hour; benefits include 21 paid holidays and additional PTO, health benefits for those working over 25 hours/week.
