Adolescent Math Teacher (Middle School) in Pittsboro, North Carolina, United States
Willow Oak Montessori is a collaborative community of professionals passionate about engaging every child in an inspirational and equitable individualized learning journey. The adolescent teacher is passionate about working with and empowering adolescents. The adolescent math teacher will be a part of a closely collaborative team of guides in a program that strongly follows the Montessori philosophy and tenets of a Montessori Adolescent Program. They will enthusiastically sustain an adolescent community by guiding their students to explore and build skills in math that align with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. In doing so, the teacher will consider and respond to each student’s interests and readiness, using a variety of experiences to appeal to the senses of all types of learners. They will exhibit a positive, optimistic attitude; treat all students in a fair and equitable manner; and communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and the community. The teacher will embrace diversity, create a learning environment that fosters respectful interactions with peers and adults from all cultures and belief systems, and prepare students to become independent and responsible global citizens.
Special qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree & Willing to obtain NC licensure within 3 years
