Job Opening for 2025-26
Full-Time Coach in Odessa, FL, US
Full-Time Learning Coach
Apogee Odessa
Apogee Odessa is a faith-integrated learning community located in Odessa, Florida, serving learners ages 5-14. We exist to help young people develop into capable, confident, purpose-driven leaders through a combination of self-directed learning, character development, entrepreneurship, fitness, life skills, and meaningful mentorship.
While Apogee Odessa is not a Montessori school, we are deeply influenced by many of the principles Maria Montessori championed, including learner independence, intrinsic motivation, mixed-age learning, hands-on exploration, and respect for the developmental journey of each child. Our K-2 learners regularly utilize Montessori materials and work within prepared environments designed to foster concentration, confidence, and ownership of learning.
We believe children are naturally curious, capable, and eager to learn when provided with freedom, responsibility, and supportive mentorship. Rather than relying on lectures, worksheets, grades, and external rewards, we seek to cultivate internal motivation, self-discipline, and a lifelong love of learning.
Our program is also unapologetically faith-integrated. We begin our days with prayer, strive to model Christian character in our interactions, and view education as preparation not only for academic success, but for a meaningful life of service, leadership, and stewardship.
About the Role:
We are seeking a full-time Learning Coach to join our team.
This is not a traditional teaching position.
Our coaches do not spend their days delivering lectures, assigning homework, or managing a conventional classroom. Instead, they serve as mentors, guides, facilitators, and role models who help learners take ownership of their education and personal growth.
Learning Coaches build meaningful relationships with learners, facilitate discussions and activities, support goal setting, encourage accountability, and help create an environment where children can develop confidence, responsibility, resilience, and character.
The ideal coach understands that education is about far more than academics. It is about helping young people learn how to think, communicate, solve problems, lead themselves, work with others, and navigate life with wisdom and integrity.
