Homeschool Montessori Guide (Lower Elementary) in Mobile, Alabama, US

Do you delight in inspiring children through the application of Montessori principles in learning? Would you enjoy guiding a single learner outside of a traditional Montessori classroom environment with the flexibility to travel locally for lesson/extensions – visiting the zoos, aquariums, caverns, museums, etc – to reinforce learning and wonder in the world around us?

Mobile, AL family is seeking a private 1-on-1 Montessori Lower Elementary Guide to homeschool a bright and curious 2nd grader. Must be enthusiastic about early elementary education / Montessori and interested in following a daily routine that includes a 3-hour dedicated work cycle and a curriculum organized around the 5 Great Lessons. We have a well-stocked home of Montessori materials – including, writing/spelling, reading, math, and hands-on history/geography & science works. We also have access to a Montessori classroom with additional materials to borrow, and are willing to acquire additional materials as needed/recommended by the guide. In addition to the work cycles & material presentations, daily activities such as bike rides, neighborhood exploration, and local excursions are strongly encouraged.

The ideal candidate will love guiding kids in learning and discovery, celebrate curiosity, embrace consistency and order, and have a Bachelor’s degree and Montessori certification. For applicants unfamiliar with Mobile, AL – our family lives in a charming historic district in this small city. We are within walking distance to a coffee shop and grocery, and enjoy the many natural amenities within driving distance, including beautiful white-sand beaches and the Mobile Tenesaw Delta (one of the most biologically diverse ecosystems in North America, known as “North America’s Amazon”).

Role is Full-Time, 8-4pm Monday-Friday. In addition to wages, we are offering relocation assistance, professional development reimbursement, and PTO.

Role to start between June and August 2023.
