Elementary Lead Teacher in Jacksonville, Florida, US

A Child’s Place Montessori has been serving the Jacksonville, Florida community since 1988. We are a small private school, providing a traditional Montessori program for children from toddlers through fifth grade. Our elementary program was established in 2007 and serves children in grades 1 – 5 within one classroom. We are currently seeking an experienced lead teacher for our elementary program to start August 2022. Candidates must hold AMS, AMI, IMC or MACTE certification in Montessori elementary education for ages 6 – 12 and have either a Bachelor’s degree or an Associate’s degree working toward a Bachelor’s. Lead teachers are salaried, benefits are available, and they work Monday-Friday, 8:00a.m.-4:00p.m. year round with a winter break, spring break, and summer vacation time as well as all federal holidays off. 

Job Responsibilities:

The teacher will guide and support the development and education of each child. The teacher will provide individualized instruction to meet each child’s needs, challenging them where necessary, and reinforcing areas they need extra help in while guiding them to achieve their full potential. The teacher will use note taking, online record keeping, parent interaction, and assessment tools to monitor each student’s progress. The elementary teacher provides a traditional Montessori elementary curriculum as well as instruction in art, music, physical education, and (ideally) Spanish.
