Children’s House Guide & Pod Leader (Ages 1 – 4)

We are a collective of families looking to create an education pod under the guidance of a certified Montessori teacher. The ideal candidate is patient, enthusiastic, innovative and passionate about education. The education pod is located in Tuolumne County CA. This is a full time position, paying 22 dollars an hour. The ideal candidate will work with parents to create Montessori style education in their homes as well as educate children daily in the Montessori style. With a strong emphasis on creativity, confidence and individual responsibility.

 

Position Summary:

Our ideal pod leader will create an environment that is conducive to the growth and development of children to their fullest potential. They will travel to a home each day and help instruct and take care of the same children with a parent present. They will be responsible for the generation and implementation of all pod curricula and the pedagogical growth and development of the pod. As well as the day-to-day teachings.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

-Oversee and supervise 5 or more children with 1-2 support staff

-Instruct using the Montessori method

-Create pod curriculum

-Plan and implement lessons

-Assist children in the bathroom

-Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment

-Coordinate classroom routine and delegate duties to support staff appropriately/as needed

-Communicate with parents to keep them updated on child’s daily activities, needs, etc. and

classroom happenings

 

About You:

-Candidates will be AMS/AMI/MACTE-certified, in the process of obtaining certification, or interested in becoming certified; we will sponsor certification for the right candidate

-Current CPR & First Aid or willing to become certified

-Be creative in material making and environmental design

-Work well in a collaborative manner with others

-Pass a Fingerprint Background Clearance

-Be a professional and positive role model to the children

-Be a keen observer and display problem solving skills

-Displays key Montessori traits of patience, passion, and respect of individualized needs

-Committed to supporting children’s development and overall well-being

-Passionate about working with children

-History of dedication, responsibility, reliability, flexibility, integrity, and creativity

-Growth mindset and enjoys working with a team
